Organization of the first consultation focus groups with civil society activists, social entrepreneurs and parliament members on the crowdfunding legislation in Morocco

Event tie

advocating for the adoption of crowdfunding legislation in Morocco

Objectives

While SimSim’s initial plan was to mobilize citizens and CSOs demand for the adoption of crowdfunding legislation in Morocco, the project launch coincided with the submission of a crowdfunding bill (proposed legislation) in the Moroccan parliament by the Ministry of Economy and Finance in October 16, 2019 (Link to the proposed legislation’s details on the website of Parliament: shorturl.at/BHR04 ). To ensure the participation of CSOs, social entrepreneurs, and citizens in general in the discussion of this bill, SimSim worked to organize consultation meetings with the social entrepreneurs, representatives of existing crowdfunding platforms, representatives of civil society organizations, and parliament members.
